Sew Mama Sew May Giveaway Day

Welcome if you're visiting to the first time, and hello to my regulars.  It's give away time over at Sew Mama Sew and I jumped at the chance to join in on the fun.  Since it's my birthday next week I wanted to celebrate with my readers by offering up these goodies.

I'm going to be giving away two prizes.  Both packs contain a fabric range that doesn't really need any introduction - Good Folks!  The reason I have decided to share this coveted fabric range with you is that the Good Folks Gods have been shining down on me lately and I have managed to acquire the last few prints to finish off my collection.  Happy dance!!

Prize 1:

Three fat eighths of Good Folks prints in my favourite colour pink.

Ric Rac owl embroidery panel

Two sets of vintage style buttons

Purse Frame Bag 8.5"x7" lined in dupion silk (handmade by me!).
You can use it to store your notions or add a little chain and use it as an evening bag.

Prize 2:

Good Folks Fortune in Sea (12"x22") with matching zip & Gutterman thread

Make It Perfect - Versatile Wrap Skirt Pattern

Monaluna Shopping Tote 17"x14" by Green Bag Lady

HOW TO ENTER:

1.  Leave a comment below letting me know what sewing machine you use and whether you would buy it again.

2.   Leave a 2nd comment if you are or become a follower via Google Friend Connect, stating as such

3.   Leave a 3rd comment if you are or become a follower of me on Twitter (@DoloresALOL), stating as such

Remember to leave an email address or make sure you have one on your Google profile so that I can contact you if you are the winner.

This competition is open to everyone internationally and will be open until May 25th, 5pm PST at which time two winners will be drawn randomly - the first drawn will win Prize 1, the second will win Prize 2.  The winners will be notified by email and announced on this post.

  1. I use a brother xr-7700 and I would buy it again :)

  2. 15 Years ago I bought my original Kenmore. When the mother board went out I bought the exact same machine with a couple extra bells and whistles.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I have a singer quantum that I bought 7 years ago. It's a good enough machine, but I'd not buy it again though. There's not enough room for quilting anything bigger than toddler size quilts!

    ReplyDelete
  4. I use a Janome 6600 and if I could buy again I would buy it, or perhaps something that costs even more! (If I am imagining being in the market for a new machine I'm going to imagine big and imagine money is no object!) I would maybe buy a Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen. I think that machine and I are friends. Never met, but destined for each other I think!

  5. I have a Juki...and I love it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. Have a very happy birthday week! I have a Janome 4120QDC and I love it beyond love it. Its name is Oscar.

  7. Great give-away!
I have a vintage Sterling machine and no thoughts of replacing it. It's just wonderful!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I use a Brother XL-2220, it's been great as a basic machine, but I am thinking of upgrading to something with a few more bells and whistles.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I honestly cannot remember what type my main sewing machine is! I've had it about 6 years, but the branding has long since worn off. It's an E-somethingsomething I think... If and when it needs replacing I would definitely get another, it's been fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I use a Bernina Bernette 66 and I would definitely buy her again! Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I use a 35yr old Singer 4032 that I snagged from my mom after she bought a fancy new Bernina. I love the Singer. It runs like a dream, has plenty of stitch options and the saying is true..."they don't make them like they used to". If I needed a new machine and found one in good condition I would absolutely pick up the same machine in a heartbeat!

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  14. I have my mothers's old Husqvarna .... I have no idea what the model is .... I think it was her 21st present so it's probably about 45 years old now.

  15. Fab give away! I have a Bernina Activa Patchwork edition and I love her to bits! Bit pricey but well worth it.

  16. I have a Singer 8280. It works fine for easy patchwork and simple sewing, like skirts. It's not good for quilting, so I might end up buying another machine as soon as I save up enough money!

    Thanks for this awesome giveaway!

  17. I own a brother and if I upgraded I would get another Brother

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have a Janome DKL603 and I would definitely buy it again. It does all I ask of it and more. It's a great SEWING machine. It doesn't do fancy stitches or embroidery but it does everything else very well.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't use a machine! I do all my sewing by hand so far. If I get into quilting, though, I suppose I'll have to get one. Haha.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  22. I use my mom's old Kenmore and it's working great. She has a Baby Lock Quest and even though it's also doing a great job, when I buy a new machine, I'll probably not buy this one !

    ReplyDelete
  28. Good morning! I have a Viking 500 from 1995. I love it! It has been a true work horse and I've never had it in the shop (knock on wood). I'd hate to give it up, but if I did, I think I'd like to try some other brand, just to see if there is a true difference. I think most of the machine are good ones these days.

  31. I use a Brother I got last year for Christmas. I have a certain fondness for it but the next time I buy I am upgrading. It gets through what it needs to, trudges along and takes lots of abuse, I would like more bells and whistles though :-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I have a Simplicity Quilter's Classic SW240. I like how many attachments it came with(especially for the price), but I don't think I would buy it again because of constant tension issues, even at the shop after they repaired it!

  136. So I started with a Brother CS-6000i which for the price got really good reviews, but I had to return 2 of them for bobbin issues. And since I still did not have a lot of money but did want a cheap amazon or walmart machine I decided to get a nicer used machine. I found an Elna 3007, which is working real well for me, only thing I would change is having automatic memorized needle down. Im going crazy without that. Thanks!

  140. I have a Kenmore that is pretty much Janome made from what I understand. Very solid and no complaints as my mother got it from the thrift store and it has been great so far. Of course, eyeing the Bernina and just sewed like a dream.

  141. Thank you for this giveaway. I have 4 machines - Brother overlocker (hardly use), a second Bernina 1130, a brand new Bernina 630 and a combo embroidery and sewing machine, Brother Innovis 4000. I bought 1130 used 13 years ago because I could not justify to my husband a new machine. After 13 years of hard work and still going strong, I finally convinced my husband that a brand new Bernina is the way to go. The combo machine is also a great machine as it is very user friendly. I used it for machine embroidery only.

  155. I love my Janome MC 3500 - though I would often like it to be a bit bigger to fit a quilt under. I also have my Grandmothers Professional Elna machine that I would one day like to attempt to use but it looks so scary!

  156. I had to leave behind my Janome when I moved across the Atlantic and couldn't afford to buy it again :(. I do love my John Lewis machine though-it's a great beginner machine, just sometimes I miss one step buttonholing, drop foot feature and the range of decorative stitches...

  161. I have a Babylock Ellure. Does embroidery and sewing. A good middle of the line machine for the money. If I would buy another machine, I would go for something made with more metal and better lighting.

  165. I use a husqvarna Viking Sapphire 875 quilt machine. It doesn't stitch as flawlessly as I'd like (for the $$) so I don't think I'd purchase it again!

  166. I have a Pfaff 2056 - but it's 8+ years old and I couldn't buy it again if I wanted to! I was admiring a $3000 Elna last weekend at the sewing expo, though. Love the blue colorway!

  169. Such a great giveaway! Thank you for the chance!! I have an Elna Quilter's Dream, it was a hand-me-down from my husband's aunt (who taught me how to quilt). I don't know if I could ever afford to buy one (I hear Elna's are $$$), but if I could I would definitely buy another one. Hopefully this one lasts me forever though. Knock on wood! ;)

  170. I have an older machine but I really like it - a New Home (Janome) Memorycraft. If they make their machines now like they did then it's very sturdy and has required only routine maintenance in 20 years. Thanks for a terrific giveaway!

  180. My parents wanted to get me a ring for my college graduation. Practical to a fault, I asked for a sewing machine, the same Husqvarna Selectronic 190 (I think? I'm not near it now to check) that my mom has. That was over 20 years ago (not sure how that statement is true...) and yes, I'd definitely buy it again. It went on the fritz last year and I was so afraid it was dead! I don't want to give it up! Thanks for this chance.

  181. I have a Bernina Activa 240 and I would definitely buy it again. It does so many things that I could spend hours just playing with it. Thank you so much for the giveaway.

  182. Oh I love Good Folks! I have a cheapo Singer Simple I bought for $70 three years ago because it was all I could afford to replace my old machine when my daughter snapped the spool pin off. I'm due for an upgrade after we get our income tax refund next year... (And no, I wouldn't buy it again. I've really gotten my money's worth out of it, though...) xo

  183. I use a Husqvarna Viking E160. It is a good beginner machine, but I'd like something a little more sophisticated now
